WITH GRACE is a short experimental documentary that is a touching and personal conversation between the filmmaker and her great-aunt, Grace Maya. Brimming the kind of spunky attitude that only comes with age, Grace shares what it’s like to fall in love in 1950s Cuba and uphold her role in a large family of mostly men while archival footage layers her narrative with a curious texture. She imparts her wisdom on her savored recipes for a full belly and a lasting marriage, but we are still left questioning why she refused to cook since the day her husband passed
